Description:
A number of internet sites and software resources use American or English money to explore the concept of money. The lesson/resource put together explores Australian money in a specific but yet open ended context; investigating and problem solving the multitude of ways you can combine coins and notes of varying denominations, to equate to a total amount.
National Curriculum:
Year 1 Achievement Standard: They solve simple addition and subtraction problems, and are familiar with Australian coins.
Year 2 Achievement Standard: They understand the value of collections of Australian coins.
Year 3 Achievement Standard: They count the change required and represent money values in various ways.
