Note: There are three layers to each Advent Calendar 'square'. |

LAYER 1 - SPECIAL EFFECT |

(This could include a clipart/graphic or sound/movie file) |

Insert a Christmas special effect for each box (see below).

Resize accordingly.

Place the special effect towards the top right hand side/middle of the date/number.

'Order' the special effect to the 'bottom'.
-
'Lock' the special effect into place.
-
Repeat the process for each special effect.

LAYER 2 - DATE/NUMBER |

Type in the date/number you wish to have on the front of each box.

Change the font style, colour, size, position as required.

Place the date/number to the far bottom left had side of the special effect.

Order' the date/number to the 'front' of each box.
-
'Lock' the date/number into place.

LAYER 3 - BOX |

In the Tool Menu, select rectangle.
-
Draw/stretch a rectangle/square of the size you wish.

Change the Object Properties so the box is 'filled' with your desired colour, not transparent.

Either 'Duplicate' or 'Infinite Clone' the original box the number of times you wish the Advent Calendar to represent, i.e. 25 days of Christmas or 31 days of December.

Drag each box to cover over a special effect. (If you have 'ordered' correctly, the special effect will be 'hidden' and the date/number will be revealed on 'top' of the box).

Note: Therefore the only movable object is the BOX so you can move to reveal each Christmas date and special effect. |
